#1748 Employment Services Program Administrator
Job duties include: 1.Actively recruits, develops, trains, and manages community businesses and organizations that will provide opportunities for participants to develop their skills through internship, job shadowing, and/or other resume-building opportunities. Job Requirements Education: Bachelor's degree strongly preferred. Minimum of two years experience working in Employment, Job Development, or Human Resources. One year minimum working with people who are homeless and/or low-income, understanding their specific needs. Knowledge of individual employment coaching and development and delivery of workshops/classes around career readiness and job retention. In-depth knowledge of local business community resources that will advance the placement of participants into career building opportunities. Bilingual English and Spanish, Russian, or Vietnamese preferred. Ability to manage multiple programs and business partners that will allow participants the opportunity to gain employment skills through job shadowing, work experience, and on-the-job training. Assist with the identification and development of funding opportunities and provide statistical analysis of program results. Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Make sound judgments in the absence of direct instructions. Ability to work in a team environment, demonstrating clear and professional boundaries. Strong computer skills with an understanding of up-to-date technology. Able to present information to groups and teach job readiness skills, employment retention, and asset-building strategies to program participants. Ability to handle potentially volatile situations; conflict mediation and negotiation skills. Strong organizational skills. Understand and commit to the Mission and Philosophy of Mercy Housing.
The Employment Services Program Administrator serves as a liaison with community businesses and organizations that will provide opportunities for program participants’ skill development. Implements and administers the Individual Development Account (IDA) program to assists participants in the development and establishment of saving plans and goals. Provides quality services to participants, including recruitment, assessment, and retention services.

3.Advocates, as necessary, on behalf of employment customers with public aid, social security, home services, etc. Assists with advocating for local, state, and federal employment policies that support program participants.
4.Performs employment readiness evaluations and one-on-one assessment; provides on-going coaching for participants to facilitate achievement of their career goals.
5.Ensures participants have the tools necessary in their job search. Provides expertise in resume development.
6.Maintains accurate and timely records. Inputs data directly into the Mercy Measurement Initiative (MMI) database, specifically tracking resident employment, wage information, participation in career readiness opportunities, and participant program results and outcomes. Produces reports and analyzes trends based on MMI data, as necessary.
7.Organizes, coordinates, and/or conducts career readiness and job retention workshops at designated properties.
8.Works with participants on their career planning at regular intervals. Provides and/or connects participants to resources and supportive services.
9.With the help of other property site staff, organizes and conducts outreach activities at the identified properties and recruits program participants.
10.Provides job retention and follow up services for employed participants.
11.As a department team member, participates in department meetings; discusses participants’ service needs and service plans, as necessary.
12.Works with Resident Services and Property Management staff to facilitate participants’ transition into the workplace.
