#1752 Maintenance Security Assistant -Francis Peak CA

This is a temporary position.

Maintenance Assistant duties include, but are not limited to, janitorial tasks, minor repairs, and patrols of grounds, parking lots, and buildings to assure security and to prevent damage to and loss of property belonging to the residents, employees, or the property. As a part of the site team, is responsible to ensure a high standard of cleanliness, customer service, and a hazard-free environment.    

Must be able to work long hours outside.  This position is snow removal, landscaping and light maintenance as needed.                 

1. Completes work orders in a timely and accurate manner.  Cleans up after work is complete.

2. Performs repairs on the property, including janitorial duties and painting.

3. Cleans apartments during turnover process as directed.

4. Maintains grounds and common areas, including lawns and flowerbeds, shrubbery, parking areas, and trash pickup.

5. Provides on-call maintenance service as directed.  Responds to emergencies as required.

6. Sets up conference room and community space as needed.

7. Responsible for following the security schedule prepared with supervisor.

8. Oversees the property and grounds for security violations.

9. Records details daily by outlining activities, observances, and/or violations.

10. Responsible to contact supervisor and/or maintenance personnel if serious violation has been made.

11. Maintains a working relationship with other staff.

12. Familiarizes self with the surrounding community and is aware of the issues that may affect the operations of the property.

13. Maintains a professional appearance and positive attitude with the residents.
 
 
Requirements

Education:

High School diploma preferred.  Knowledge of basic building maintenance required either through training or experience.  First Aid and/or CPR certification desirable.

Experience:

No specific maintenance work experience required.  One year experience as a Security Guard desirable.

Abilities:

Receive direction from the supervisor.

Ability to read, write, do basic math, and follow instructions.

Work in a collaborative manner, as a member of a site team.

Ability to relate and act professionally with vendors, residents, and co-workers; maintain a professional appearance.

Ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.

Use basic maintenance equipment and tools.

Ability to be flexible to change work plans.

Ability to drive a car (and a valid driver's license) in order to run errands, etc.

Physically able to do required foot patrols.

Keep accurate, detailed records of activities.

Able to testify in court.

Function responsibly during a crisis.

Ability to work independently and fulfill assigned tasks.
