1st Shift Maintenance Supervisor

 

Unilever North American Ice Cream (Good Humor, Breyers, Klondike, Popsicle, Ben & Jerry’s) has an immediate opportunity for a TPM/Maintenance Supervisor at our Clearwater, Florida manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for providing technical and operational support for the plant in maintenance and TPM activities. This person will help support the plant's safety philosophy of zero accidents. They will play a key role in driving a strong and robust Manufacturing Excellence Program through TPM philosophy. Candidate will be responsible for overseeing ammonia refrigeration, plant facilities and support equipment. They must also supervise the daily activities of the maintenance department. They will help develop, implement and analyze working methodologies in order to improve factory efficiency and reliability. Through TPM they will help develop a culture of zero losses while delivering results. As a support function to production they will minimize line downtime, assist with process and operations, and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). Responsible for supporting the TPM/Maintenance Manager in developing and executing Plant TPM policy, strategy and targets. Maintain and be responsible for PM systems, spare parts inventory control, job scheduling, staff training, and identification of plant improvement plans. Works overtime and a variable schedule as necessary to meet Plant objectives. Complete all other assigned duties. Responsible for compliance to all Plant policies, procedures, safety and sanitation rules and governmental regulations.

 

Key Experience

- Fully operational on ammonia refrigeration process.

- Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) or other continuous improvement methodology experience.

- Supervising and working with mechanics.

- Technically strong in regard to understanding processing and packaging equipment such as fillers, wrappers, cartoners, conveyoring, etc.

 

Key Relationships

Must have good interpersonal skills in dealing with mechanics and hourly workforce as well as communicating with all levels of management.

 

Key Competencies

- Very strong computer skills.

- Basic cost analysis skills with strong analytical and reasoning skills.

- Technical writing skills including developing SOP's.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills including strong presentation skills.

- Good trainer and facilitator of work groups.

- Project management, planning and organizing skills (a key to success with multiple project management).

 

Requirements

- Four year degree in Engineering or related field

- 1 year of experience in ammonia refrigeration.

- 2 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing or related environment.

- Expereince in TPM or other continuous improvement methodology a plus.
