DRS Power & Control Technologies, Inc., is a leading supplier of high-performance power conversion and instrumentation & control systems for the U.S. Navy's combatant fleet. The Division designs, qualifies and manufactures products that help people every day on the ground, sea and in the air. We operate on a 9/80 work schedule, all employees work 80 hrs in 9 days and have every other Friday off.
Position Summary
Electrical schematic design entry and wire list creation for medium and large systems. Must be proficient with Routed System Designer (RSD) schematic entry software tool.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Prepare schematics, parts lists and interconnection diagrams using proper drafting requirements and techniques
· Capable of operating CAD design equipment properly to perform work tasks
· Capable of providing design guidance to engineering and program management
· Hold and participate in design reviews
· Organize daily work tasks such that the highest priorities are processed first and so all work tasks get completed
· Provide budget, schedule, and technical compliance updates to management in order to effectively record progress of technical aspects of the program assigned
Basic Qualifications
· 5+ years experience using RSD CAD design tool, required
· 10+ years of detailed panel or cabinet harness and schematic design
· Extensive PC skills in Word, Excel, Windows
· United States Citizenship is required
· Be available for an onsite interview
· Be able to perform onsite RSD knowledge through workstation demo.
Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge
· Proven design skills in a product development environment / Ability to work in multi-functional design teams
· Strong inter-personal and communication skills to aid communications within the development department, other departments and external customers
· Experience or familiarity with ProCable a plus
· Familiarity with military specifications and military design experience is desired
