Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities for this role are as follows:
• Act as the primary interface between the CIC North Slope / Anchorage and field-based Operations Teams.
• Assure that appropriate CIC strategies and plans are in place for their assigned areas.
• Identify opportunities to improve existing programs, take a lead role in communicating the opportunities and assure that a plan of action is in place and that it is followed.
• Facilitate CIC-related work at the assigned facility to assure that appropriate communication occurs between the CIC and Operations Teams in the undertaking of corrosion-related work. This will assist in the optimization of planning of field-related activity.
• Monitor performance of CIC activities at their assigned area, report back to area management on the effectiveness of the overall program and provide early notification of potential issues with the use of key performance indicators (KPIs) and other appropriate performance management tools.
• Address the requirements of any special projects or activities requiring physical walk-downs of facilities.
• Proactively and systematically perform walk-downs of assigned facilities to achieve the following:
o Create corrosion-related systems and circuits to assist in the holistic evaluation of facilities for corrosion.
o Assist with confirming, updating and upgrading key asset registers (e.g., temporary repairs, dead legs and conformance exceptions) used by the technical and operations staff in the creation of corrosion-related recommendations.
o Participate in the management of change (MOC) process to assure that the corrosion and chemical impacts of major and creeping changes are addressed.
o Participate in the MOC process by identifying deviations to existing process and instrumentation drawings (P&IDs) and bringing them to the attention of the local engineering staff for updating.
o Assist in the development of recommendations associated with items identified as part of the Relative Assessment of Piping Integrity Data (RAPID) process.
o Assist in addressing employee concerns related to corrosion issues.
• Assist in the development and assurance of annual budgets and plans. Specifically, in the development of annual plans, the Area Lead will assure that plans are in conformance with site-specific strategies and that funds associated with the programs are appropriately allocated to achieve the performance objective. With respect to the assurance of annual budgets, the Area Lead will work with budget control personnel to communicate budget anomalies to area management.
• Attend and participate in area meetings as appropriate. This may include local morning meetings, area safety meetings, local area management meetings, monthly area roundtable meetings and CIC-led meetings.
• Facilitate site visits as required (e.g., technical staff, regulators and BP leadership)
• Participate in incident investigations as appropriate.
