A U.S. capital equipment manufacturer is seeking a Regional Sales Manager to sell water and wastewater capital equipments in the Western United States. The company, recognized as one of the world’s most experienced wastewater equipment and process optimization experts, sells to municipal water and wastewater treatment facilities and fluid mixing markets. Salesperson must be experienced selling directly to western municipal water and wastewater equipment clients, and have a verifiable client base.
Job Responsibilities
· Sells equipment directly to engineering and municipal clients in territory. Uses company technical/ engineering assets as required to support targeted sales efforts
· Develops and maintains strong working relationships with customers in assigned geographic areas. Works to assure that short and long term sales goals are achieved
· Provides accurate and meaningful marketing information, forecasting and product planning from customer points-of-view
· Provides a high level of sales professionalism to achieve superior degree of customer satisfaction
· Plans and manages travel schedules
Job Requirements
· Technical sales background in water and wastewater capital equipment a must
· Significant direct selling sales experience, demonstrated client base
· Bachelor’s Degree minimum – engineering or environmental science a plus
· 5+ years experience in capital equipment and mechanical services sales
· Strong understanding of municipal business contracting practices and effective sales techniques – must be able to manage and perform to business plan
· Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
· Strong background in rotational equipment sales: motors, drives, pumps, seals, agitators, mixers, etc.
· Established customer base
· Should live in California with access to major airport
· Travel in excess of 50% covering western U.S.
