ACADEMIC COORDINATOR

General Responsibilities: Reporting to the Director of the Georgia Regional Center, this full-time, mid-level administrative position is responsible for assisting in the leadership and management of the academic programs of the Regional Center, to help ensure the delivery of high quality service consistent with the Cambridge College teaching and learning model, academic program goals, established practices and systems, contract requirements, and applicable regulations. The Academic Coordinator will participate in management leadership training provided by the College. Responsibilities of this position include occasional travel to the main campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts. A flexible schedule is required, to include some evening and weekends. Valid driver’s license and regular access to a vehicle is required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Recommends faculty to be hired, coordinates and delivers faculty development activities, follows up on faculty assessment processes required by the College.
• Responsible for having all data of an academic nature updated and ready for Accrediting and Licensing Commission, visits and reviews.
• Arranges for academic advising, working with Professional Seminar Leaders.
• Develops the agenda for faculty meetings and retreats.
• Coordinates the documentation of student learning required for program evaluation.
• Coordinates the delivery of Independent Learning Projects (ILPs) to the Office of the Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs, meeting all standards required.
• Maintains curriculum and course syllabi development standards as defined by the Academic Excellence and Leadership Standing Committee, the Office of the Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs and accrediting agencies.
• Prepares course scheduling for approval of the Regional Center Director.
• Coordinates the process for new program development, including market analysis, program development, accreditation, and licensing documentation.
• Collaborates with Leadership and Continuing Education Coordinator in writing proposals for new programs.
• Reviews the academic catalog and publications to ensure that they are academically correct and appropriate in coordination with the Marketing Advertising and Publications Coordinator.
• Reports activities to the Regional Center Director every Friday.
Related Duties as necessary:
• Research academic program development.
• Coordinate accreditation procedures: collect Teacher Performance Assessments (TPA) and other academic documents.
• Present the Cambridge College, Georgia Center in professional development activities and national conferences.
• Communicate with agencies regarding academic programs, such as Department of Education.
• Prepare instruments for collecting data on student satisfaction regarding academic services.
• Other duties as required by the Regional Center Director.
Qualifications: Master’s degree in Education required; Minimum 3 years of successful college/university or community planning, and/or scheduling experience desired; Proven interpersonal relations skills; Excellent verbal communication/presentation and written communications skills required; Preferred candidate will be fluent in both English and Spanish; Demonstrated experience and facility with Microsoft Office software; Must work effectively as a team member, with a strong customer service orientation; Experience working with and for diverse communities or organizations; Experience working with adult populations desired.
Salary: Commensurate with the position and qualifications of the candidate.
