Job Description

Perform a variety of accounting functions including, but not limited to, reconciliation of funds, posting transactions to customer accounts, compiling and sorting documents, following up on collection issues, and providing customer service related to billing inquiries by customers.  Complete duties related to the execution of the Accounts Receivable function to meet departmental goal of producing accurate and timely financial reporting.  Responsible for ensuring integrity of billing processes.  May be assigned other general accounting duties as needed by department.

 

Must possess a strong work ethic, ability to work under pressure in a high volume environment, and willingness to be a team player.  Must be self-driven and demonstrate initiative.

 

Candidate must be able to work overtime as needed.

 

Job Responsibilities and Requirements

  • Meet daily, monthly, quarterly deadlines for the recording of all A/R and non A/R cash receipts

·        Process credit cards, ACH payments, and check payments.  Reconcile and reprocesses rejects

·        Create and maintain excel spreadsheets as supporting documents

·        Prepare manual cash deposits, use Remote Deposit System, and enter into GL or A/R accounts

·        Assist with posting entries into General Ledger as requested

·        Research customer accounts for possible issues and respond in a timely manner to disputes

·        Audit cash accounts monthly and correct any variance

·        Communicate with internal and external customers – verbal and written interaction to maintain customer satisfaction by resolving issues on a timely basis.

·        File and maintain accounting records

·        All other duties as assigned

·        Some overtime required

 

Experience and Education

 Associates Degree preferred; 1-2 years of experience in billing position

 

Skills and Knowledge Required

·        Familiarity with Microsoft Office Products (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)

·        Microsoft Outlook.

·        Keyboarding skills

·        Working knowledge of accounting terminology and procedures

·        Excellent data review and processing skills

·        Detail oriented

·        Attention to detail

·        Superior customer service skills

·        Good organizational skills           

·        Work under moderate supervision with regular review of completed work
