ADEC and Soil experienced Enviromental Engineer - Anchorage AK

Description:
Candidate will support the Western Service Area Environmental Occupational Safety & Health (EOSH ) Program.

Primary work location will be in Alaska but assignments may be made anywhere within the FAAs Western Service area (western 1/3 of U.S., Hawaii, & South Pacific).

Candidate will provide project management for FAA decommissioning and environmental cleanup projects.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Scope development, cost estimating, contractor oversight, and regulatory coordination

Candidate will also provide engineering expertise regarding environmental protection which includes:

Knowledge of the theories, principles, practices and techniques of environmental engineering concerning facilities and systems for controlling pollution and protecting quality of resources and the environment; Federal and state environmental laws

Legal due process system, rules and regulations concerning environmental compliance at Federal facilities

Environmental audit, environmental impact statements and environmental assessment associated with acquisition or sale of real property.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in the appropriate engineering, construction management, chemistry or physical science specialty from an accredited college or university or Engineering-In-Training Examination (EIT) or Professional Engineering (PE) certification.

A minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience with ALASKA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION (ADEC) cleanup rules (18AAC75) and in the particular specialized field of engineering.

Soil contaminated experience is required.

Candidate must be willing to travel 75% of the time, including remote areas.

Lead abatement certification
40-hour HAZWOPER
RCRA hazardous waste
Remote Alaska travel experience
Demolition experience
Hydrocarbon detection equipment operation & calibration experience
Working knowledge of aviation systems
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
Strong oral and written communication abilities and interpersonal skills
