Job Ad Body:

The mission of the Department of Molecular Biology and Microbiology is to teach and to do cutting-edge research at the highest possible levels, in an atmosphere of cooperation and collaboration both within the department and in relation to other departments. The department has teaching responsibilities in both the Medical and Dental Schools, and supports a graduate program in Molecular Micobiology in the Sackler School of Graduate Biomedical Sciences, as well as a Training in Education program for postdoctoral fellows.

The Administrative Coordinator:

  • Performs office duties using initiative and independent judgement;
  • Supports Chairman and faculty in preparation of complex documents and reports including syllabi, exam and grant preparation;
  • Compiles, proofreads and edits material;
  • Maintains databases;
  • Coordinates meetings, events, programs and travel arrangements;
  • Acts as department resource in answering, resolving problems or directing concerns to appropriate person;
  • Coordinates the recruitment and admission activities for the Molecular Microbiology Graduate Program as well as for the Training in Education and Research program for Postdocs.

Basic Requirements: A Bachelors Degree with 3-5 years of experience. Experience with MAC computer and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Photoshop and End Note. Ability to lift 20lbs.

Preferred Qualifications: Successful candidate should have strong communication and writing skills and be able to multi-task in a busy environment. Knowledge of Dream Weaver, and HTML is beneficial.
