Job Ad Body:

HNRCA investigators conduct advanced studies on nutrition and aging. Their research focuses on determining the optimal nutrient profile necessary to promote well-being for older adults. HNRCA scientists examine how nutrition plays a major role in the prevention of the major chronic degenerative conditions and diseases associated with aging.

The Administrative Supervisor:

  • Provides administrative support to multiple laboratory and/or administrative units, as well as supervision of four to five junior personnel within the Administrative Core;
  • Provides performance plan goal setting for direct reports;
  • Manages and coaches direct reports;
  • Provides group and individual trainings;
  • Acts as department resource for all administrative matters;
  • Manages grant funds and budgets;
  • Prepares expense and labor reports;
  • Prepares grant proposals, including the completion of internal administrative and budget paperwork;
  • Submits manuscripts to ARIS system;
  • Proofreads and edits materials;
  • Coordinates meetings, programs, and travel arrangements;
  • Retrieves information from print or internet;
  • Helps prepare PowerPoint presentations;
  • Assists in ordering laboratory supplies.

Basic requirements: A Bachelors Degree with 1-3 years related experience; Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications: Basic math/linear algebra skills. Self-motivated individual with experience in an administrative support setting. Demonstrated professionalism and customer service. Practice of and commitment to ethical conduct. Effective communicator and experience with conflict resolution. Experience with higher education and/or a federally-funded institution.
