AIX Administrator
Expertise in Installation, Configuration, and Troubleshooting of AIX 5.3 (primary skill set) and either of Red Hat Linux AS / ES or Solaris 8/10 (secondary skill set).
Familiarity with at least one of the following is required:
IBM p-series, HMC, clustering (HACP/ GFPS).
Extensive experience in networking, TCP/IP, Ethernet, DNS, DHCP.
Good working knowledge of Monitoring Tools such as HP Openview (OVO, OVPI), BMC Patrol and Introscope required.
Good working knowledge of support products including;, Powerbroker, VAS, NDM, and Opsware, PAC2000.
Excellent communication, relationship building and client partnering skills required
Experience working in high-pressure, enterprise-class environment preferred
To be successful in this role you must have experience with and enjoy working with/through hardware and software support issues.
Preferred Skills
Experience with administration of large server pools (100+).
Kickstart / Jump-start experience for building/rebuilding.
Knowledge of at least one of the following AIX, Solaris 10 zoning, Red Hat, SuSe, zLinux, HP-UX
Working knowledge of console access on IBM HS20/40 (management module), HP (Ilo), Dell (Drac), as well VMWare console access
SAN/DASD/NAS storage management experiences a plus (EMC, McData, IBM Shark, VERITAS).
Shell Scripting, Perl, or Automation programming experience a plus.
