People within the Client Operations - Infrastructure Outsourcing (IO) workgroup are responsible for the day-to-day provision of long-term outsourcing services to one or several clients.  Client Operations is where the majority of Services people reside and, typically, people in the workgroup are based permanently at a client location.  Infrastructure Outsourcing is the ongoing management and/or improvement of activities related to a part of to the whole of a technical infrastructure (e.g., information systems, security systems, telecommunication networks), allowing companies to focus on their core business and competencies.

Description of Duties:

 

The primary responsibility of a Oracle Database Administrator II  is focused on  addressing day-to-day build, management, support, and troubleshooting activities of the team.   The Database Administrator will provide database administration support, review database design and integration of systems, provide backup recovery, and make recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements. 

 

Responsibilities include database loading; development and management of operational procedures; environment management; database health (e.g. monitoring, proactive and reactive responses); resource planning; database upgrade planning; backup and recovery strategy planning and implementation; environment transition planning (development, test, stage, production).  

 

The Database Administrator position will require an understanding of the following Oracle products:

 

  • Oracle Database 10g & 11g
  • Oracle RAC
  • Oracle Grid Control
  • Oracle ASM
  • Oracle Streams
  • Oracle DataGuard

 

Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

 

Qualifications

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline
  • 2 years Oracle database 10g administration experience

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • 2 years Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC)
  • 2 years Oracle Grid Control
  • 2 years Oracle Backup and Recovery (RMAN)
  • Linux experience preferred
