VERTEX Inc. is looking for Application and Information Architects with the following skills:
Architecture Attitude
Self starter, Deals effectively with ambiguity, Comfortable taking the lead, Decision maker, Organizational influence and Strategic thinker.
Architecture Discipline
Facilitation skills, Consensus building skills, UML Modeling experience, Basic project management skills and Analytical skills.
Technical requirements:
Deep Technical Subject Area Knowledge in 2 or more of the following:
Information/data architecture principles and practices – for example:
Data Modeling, ETL, Databases, Data Marts, Information Factories
Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) knowledge and application,
Infrastructure design and implementation – for example
Mainframe, Servers, n-tier, Distributed, Network, UNIX, Microsoft, Virtualization, Content management and Virtualization
Distributed Development – for example
SAP (BI/BW), J2EE/JAVA, .NET, Frameworks, Application server platforms (e.g. Websphere, IIS), Integration tools and platforms, Application performance/optimization, and Knowledge of Usability Principles
Legacy applications;
CSC Vantage experience a plus
Security – for example
Application Controls, Directory Services, Network Security, Access Management, Identity Management,
Business Knowledge
Life Insurance background preferred – for example
Investment business, Life Insurance - front and backoffice operations, Annuities, Corporate (e.g. General Ledger, Finance, HR, LAW), Information Technology
Experience/Education
4 yr. College Degree (in related field preferred); 5-7 years of IT work experience; Previous experience within a Life and Annuity company, Previous experience in a formal architecture role.
