Job Title: Senior Programmer/Developer

Location: NYC

Salary: 95K- 100K

DUTIES (include but are not limited to):

The Senior Programmer is responsible for creating and maintaining custom applications, systems, and interfaces – as well as writing code to integrate existing systems.  These include stand-alone applications, system utilities, database applications, web sites, and interfaces with accounting, human resource, and other systems.  Will also have project management-type responsibilities on some larger, more complex initiatives.

Familiar with reporting tools and report development. Must be able to manage software development projects, from requirements gathering through coding, testing, documentation, delivery and maintenance of the finished code.  Individual must have a strong technical foundation as well as a full understanding of common coding standards, configuration management, and full life cycle systems development. Able to work effectively with other developers, and non-technical staff from other departments.  Has the ability to present complex technical information to a wide range of audiences, from other technical staff to senior management. Able to work with a variety of development tools and environments – including but not limited to Microsoft .NET, VBScript, JavaScript and SQL.  Familiarity in use of project collaboration tools, such as SharePoint.  Individual should be a fast learner of new technologies and a creative thinker... Shares skills and information freely, able to mentor and train other developers.

Provide strategic, forward-thinking ideas to help define technical architecture and vision for applications development for the firm.  Make suggestions for migrating legacy applications and data into newer platforms and virtual environments for better scalability and maintenance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Design, maintain, and support enterprise application systems, web applications and portals, custom reports, etc.  Has the ability to work with various development tools, languages, and platforms.

Collaborate effectively with programmers, IT staff, and attorneys and staff on development projects.   Help define requirements, and explain the capabilities and limitations of various systems.

Document code and completed applications.

Provide assistance and training to the other Programmer/ Analysts

OTHER RESPOBSIBILITIES:

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.

Minimum 8 years experience in large database and custom application development work

Minimum 5 years experience with Web development tools.

Strong skills in the areas of Microsoft .NET, ASP.NET, VB.NET, C#, Microsoft SQL, and advanced search tools 

Knowledge of SQL and TSQL

Strong skills in HTML, VBScript, JavaScript -- knowledge of MS SharePoint a BIG plus

Experience with any Workflow product (e.g. MetaStorm) a plus.
