Headquartered in the Old City District of Philadelphia, GlobalFit is a leading provider of benefits for healthy living.  They are seeking a talented Web Developer with experience on high transaction public-facing websites to join their technology team.  Candidates must have hands-on in-depth knowledge of industry standards such as JavaScript, SQL Server 2005 (including serious T-SQL skills), VBScript (ASP), and PHP.  Cake PHP or Ruby on Rails skills are a plus.

Qualified candidates must possess the following:

• BSCS or related discipline or equivalent experience.


• A minimum of 3 years proven experience designing and developing enterprise-class, database-driven, interactive web sites (front-end and back-end)


• 3+ years of full life cycle development with an emphasis on incremental, iterative development and deployment.


• 3+ years of development experience on SQL databases, including expert-level Transact-SQL programming.


• Ability to work under tight time constraints with verbal & written instructions of varying levels of detail and changing requirements.


• Comfortable in a fast-paced, team-oriented agile environment.


• Strong written and verbal skills from both business and technical perspectives.

 Job Description:

• Design, code, test, and deploy scalable and reliable web applications (Internet and Intranet)


• Translate business requirements into user stories and tasks.


• Provide development estimates outlining business and technical risks.


• Ensure the application of information assurance policies, principles, and practices.


• Work closely within a small development team using Agile development methodologies


• Troubleshoot development & production environments, performance tune, and optimize code.


• Performs all other duties as assigned
