ASSISTANT DIRECTOR


Program Evaluation and Planning


REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR, PROGRAM EVALUATION AND PLANNING


LOCATION: 305 7th Avenue, New York, NY 10001


HOURS: 35 Hours/Week; Exempt


               


JOB SUMMARY:


 The Assistant Director will assist in providing leadership of Good Shepherd’s evaluation, planning, and quality assurance activities.


 


MAJOR DUTIES



  • Assist the Director with the implementation of all planning, program evaluation and quality assurance functions;

  • Provide ongoing support and technical assistance to help staff use data effectively to promote a culture of learning and high performance;

  • Assist the Director in working with programs to identify outcomes, incorporating expectations of government and private funding sources, accreditation bodies and internal expectations of program staff;

  • Assist the Director in collaborating with the Development Department and Government Contracts Department to develop new outcomes and tracking for funding purposes;

  • Oversee agency-wide QA efforts including Incident Reporting, Participant Satisfaction Surveys and Case Record Review;

  • Supervise the Efforts to Outcomes (ETO) Database Project Manager, the Case Record Review/Participant Satisfaction Survey Project Manager, the Child Welfare Coordinator and the Program Analyst;

  • Attend external meetings (e.g., DOE, ACS) as needed;

  • Travel to program sites, as needed;

  • Support Director with special projects, as needed.

 


QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree in public administration, social work or related field preferred;

  • At least five years experience in social services; 

  • Must have experience in outcomes measurement/program evaluation/quality assurance; 

  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills;

  • Strong expertise in Microsoft Office Suite as well as proficiency in SPSS.  Knowledge of Efforts to Outcomes (ETO), Connections, EvolvCS, and/or PROMIS databases a plus;

  • Must have superior organizational and analytical skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills;

  • Must have customer service sensibility;

  • Must be able to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment;

  • Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of people, as well as an aptitude for teamwork;

  • Ability to use public transportation for travel to program locations throughout New York City.
