Position Description:
The manager is responsible for managing accounting and auditing engagements and related projects, working with assigned clients, including participating in the planning process for engagements; coordinating activities with clients; supervising the performance of fieldwork; reviewing work papers and financial statements; and presenting results to clients' management. This position reports to a Principal.
Areas of focus to include:
- Direct planning, organizing, scheduling and review engagements
- Maintain regular contact with assigned clients
- Supervise multiple engagements and staff at various levels
- Serve as liaison between managing director, clients and staff
- Effectively identifies and resolves accounting and audit issues
- Identifies risk areas for the engagement team
- Identifying and communicating to audit staff changes in professional standards, pronouncements, laws, guidelines and audit standards
- Be familiar with and utilize computer programs utilized by client service staff
- Understand and apply audit theories and procedures
- Plan engagements
- Review and analyze client internal controls
- Ability to identify and resolve audit issues
- Prepare audit programs, time budgets, and management letters
- Develop a working relationship with clients and prospective clients and be the client contact on engagements
- Manage a number of engagements at one time
- Effectively wrap-up engagement
- Maintain a high level of Confidentiality at all times
