Kaplan Tutoring is looking for outstanding Academic professionals to help launch a new brand that will grow alongside a wide range of existing educational products and services within the Kaplan, Inc. family. Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Director, the Academic Manager will oversee all phases of our students’ academic experience. They will manage every aspect of instruction with an eye toward continually improving the academic progress of every student. They will also be responsible for selling products and services to new and current families.
Responsibilities:
• Manage the service provided to our members including parent communication, effective instruction, and complete customer satisfaction
• Ensure all students meet and exceed company benchmarks for academic progress
• Employ consultative sales techniques to enroll new and current members in Kaplan Tutoring programs
• Manage a full time Academic Specialist when Center / Market membership reaches qualifying levels
• Manage part time Tutor recruiting, hiring, training, supervision, scheduling, professional development, and overall instructional quality
• Train qualified Tutors to help staff outside marketing and sales events
• Analyze and make improvements to our customer referral program to ensure positive results
• Monitor student lesson plans, student academic progress, and assessments
• Manage the assimilation of new instructional materials and methods
• Help market Kaplan Tutoring programs to local schools, families, organizations, and community leaders
• Take an active role in the execution of sales, marketing, and promotional programs
• Run and manage all aspects of the business independently at least two days per week (depending on location)
Requirements:
· Bachelors Degree; excellent academic record
· Passion for fostering academic progress
· 2-3 years of teaching and/or management experience preferred
· Outstanding on site and remote management skills
· Leadership and team motivation skills
· Entrepreneurial spirit
· Knack for relationship building in person and via phone
· Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle numerous details
· Strong interpersonal, communication (both verbal and written) and presentation skills
· Desire to work in an intense, fast paced environment with heavy customer interaction
· Strong problem solving, decision-making, listening and creative thinking abilities
· Enthusiasm for both customer service, sales and overall business growth
· Ability to work independently and take initiative
· Must be authorized to work in the United States
