If you are a nurse or clinician and would like to stay in the medical field but transition to account management or customer service, meet with clients in a supportive role, and travel a reasonable amount, then this might be the opportunity for the perfect career change. My client, a leading supplier to home healthcare agencies, is looking for a Client Services Manager (CSM) to interact with clients when purchasing agreements are established or when supply or procedure issues arise. The position is a combination of Account Manager and Customer Service. The Client Services Manager will be the face of the company in implementing a new client. He/she will be responsible for integrating systems and training all personnel so that high service levels can be attained. She/he will make sure the customer and their own company are both ready to start and that all details have been worked out. They will be the interface during the setup and learning phases and then again if problems ever arise. They will also be involved in formulary discussions initially and as needed.
My client has grown over 20% annually for 10 years and initiates new accounts on a regular basis. Their business is nationwide but concentrated in the eastern half of the country. The CSM will communicate with the new clients and spend time at their premise(s) before and during roll-out. Then they will stay in close communications as the account progresses. Problems that develop over time may be handled over the phone or through personal visits. There will also be periodic performance review meetings with major clients.
There are several requirements to qualify for this important CSM role. First, you need to be an excellent communicator, organized and on top of all details. And you’ll need excellent computer skills. Second, you need to be experienced in the healthcare industry, preferably home healthcare or hospice. Third, you should have the license or designation of RN, PRN, LPN, WOCN or something comparable. Fourth, you’ll need good client services skills to on-board the clients, resolve issues, and build strong relationships to maintain and grow the business. Lastly, some sales or account management experience would be very helpful.
There is another requirement dealing with location. My client feels travel would be easier if the CSM is located near a transportation hub and also near major accounts. St. Louis, Chicago, and Atlanta are the best locations, but Dallas, Detroit, Cleveland, Philadelphia, New York, Boston and Baltimore/Washington DC would all be good, and there could be a few other acceptable locations as well. Someplace that’s very hard to fly from would not be good. The position will use a home office.
The CSM will report to the Vice President of Business Development but will work closely with all company departments. This is an excellent company and a vital position with a very good opportunity for career advancement. The probable pay range is $60 - $75,000 but that may be adjusted somewhat in either direction based on experience and qualifications. If you’re interested, please submit your resume in WORD to Resumes@JobsAgent.com along with a cover letter discussing your qualifications as outlined above.
