Level 3 Communications is seeking an experienced Account Director based in the San Francisco area.

This position contributes to Level 3's position as the premier communications solutions provider to the enterprise Financial markets. The selected candidate will identify, bid on, negotiate, and close new Voice and Data sales opportunities in the enterprise Financial segment in order to meet and exceed established sales and revenue quotas. The position entails seeking new business relationships and/or expanding on existing account relationships.

Level 3 is looking for candidates with an extensive and progressive background (7 + years) in Financial business development and sales; along with experience managing and growing a portfolio of assigned targeted accounts or prospects. He/she will need to demonstrate success in establishing strong relationships with C level and executive management in Fortune 500 type enterprise organizations, and not only thrive on change, but drive it as well. The ideal candidate will have a proven sales track record, specifically in a revenue generating capacity, on a month in month out and quarter in and quarter out basis.

In order to be successful in the position, the candidate will need sophisticated strategic/consultative selling experience and proven ability to hunt for, and win, new business. It is essential that candidates have strong oral and written communication skills, the ability to articulate Level 3 value propositions, and a good technical grasp of key network concepts. The right candidate will be able to represent the full suite of Level 3 products including the industry's premier set of both metro and long distance layer 1, 2 and 3 data products as well as voice/voip. In addition, candidates will understand and be able to articulate a value proposition that emphasizes the power of Level 3's owned and operated end to end network.

He/she will have full global revenue responsibility for the assigned accounts, as well as responsibility for the development and implementation of strategic and tactical sales and account plans. Candidates will be heavily involved in driving the initiation and close of sales contracts, development and maintenance of accurate revenue forecasts, managing quota funnels and forecasts and providing strategic and financial leadership for `their portfolio. Knowledge of the Siebel forecasting system is desired. Target Account Selling (or equivalent) is preferred. This role will require occasional travel.

Team with technical, engineering, customer service, and related support staffs to ensure end-to-end customer sales and satisfaction and thereby drive new revenue growth. Participate and learn from Level 3's industry leading training/on-boarding program. Continue to train and develop knowledge of new technologies and selling points, including enhancing expertise in data and voice application technologies.

Required skills and experience:
* Four years of College resulting in a Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent experience
* 7+ years voice and data sales
* In depth knowledge of Data and Enterprise voice products
* Record of success (President's club, etc.)
* Excellent customer references
* Experience managing, maintaining and growing revenue for customers with total portfolio in excess of a minimum of $1.2M annual telecom spend
* Strong communication skills and proficiency in selling to the close
* Proficient in MS office products: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
