Position Overview


In this field sales position, the Account Manager will manage sales processes in the Southeast territory, which include: OK, LA, AR, MS, AL, FL, GA, SC, NC, and TN. The successful candidate will consistently achieve or exceed the territory sales plan by applying working knowledge of Professional, Consultative, and Strategic Selling skills to maintain and develop existing business as well as new accounts.


 


In addition to demonstrating effective use of selling skills in the field, the Account Manager will develop and maintain effective business relationships to influence purchasing decisions, execute and implement a Strategic Business Plan including account specific strategies, and maintain and increase a current customer database through Company customer relations management software. Further, the selected individual will formulate and recommend pricing strategies for key accounts; provide service to customers via daily phone contact and personal visits; and communicate account objectives and action plans to management via monthly Field Sales Market Reports.


 


Education Requirements


B.S. in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Virology or a related field, or the equivalent knowledge and experience, is required.



Experience Requirements


A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Technical Sales Representative or the equivalent related sales experience is required. Working knowledge of Cell Culture and Biotechnology is necessary. The successful candidate must have the capacity to manage expenses and execute sales and marketing plans as well as possess strong analytical and business planning skills.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must. Knowledge of accounts in the Southeast territory is preferred. Additionally, demonstrated proficiency with computer applications, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, or like programs is beneficial. Extensive travel will be required.
