Account Manager - Freight Brokerage - Multiple Locations

$28-35K base plus commissions

 

My client is a premier sourcing group capable of developing and managing carrier capacity for either bulk or package shipments of any size via a variety of modes.  They work with clients as a full-service third party logistics provider or as a broker handling both hazardous and non-hazardous products.

 

The Account Manager – Freight Brokerage position will be responsible for selling transportation brokerage services by developing relationships with existing and potential customers.  In addition, they are responsible for developing relationships and negotiating the best transportation rates with qualified freight carriers. 

Must be proficient at questioning and probing to determine if customer may have a dedicated logistics opportunity to qualify and provide potential opportunities to their Dedicated Sales team. The Account Manager must provide daily/weekly/monthly updated documentation designed to help the Account Manager and Team to meet their goals and have a sense of accomplishment – driven by Individual & Team success.

Areas of Responsibility and Accountability

1.      Manages Client Relationships & Sales Performance

·        Lead Development & Qualifying of Prospective Client

·        Carrier Service & Sales - Negotiate for Commitment

·        Client Service & Sales - Negotiate for Commitment

·        Monitor and review daily/weekly/monthly metrics from production reports – make adjustments and contingency plans accordingly

2.      Distribution Management:  Client & Carrier Contract Approval, Completion and Monitoring

·        Effectively utilizes authority for operational decisions for contract approval and completion in consultation with the Leadership.

·        Effectively monitors contracts and accounts receivables

Qualifications

·        Brokerage Sales - both inside sales  & Carrier Management experience (Minimal 1 yr, preferred 2-5 years)

·        Carrier Management – TL, LTL & intermodal (preferred 2-3 years)

·        Successful experience in working in a sales environment that requires a detail oriented approach and multi-tasking ability.

·        Brokerage account portfolio

·        Pricing Analysis (Client and Carriers)

·        Transportation or Logistics (preferred 2-5 yrs)

·        Computer literate – Microsoft Office Suite, Database, Data Analysis, Transportation software

·        Residence: Lafayette, Louisiana (relocation assistance)

·        Education: High School Diploma/GED required.  Bachelors Degree, preferred but not required
