Account Manager

In the Account Manager position you would be the primary point of contact for a dedicated group of customers (accounts of 250 employees or more) with responsibility to further our business with these key clients via excellent customer management and support. Primary responsibilities as an Account Manager for this office include:

• Developing and managing primary relationships with key accounts and brokers via frequent on-site visits, professional negotiation, responsive communication, problem resolution and continually working to exceed customer expectations.
• Acting as the chief liaison between the customer and our business units to initiate plan improvements, resolve issues, and continually improve the customer relationship and their experience.
• Partnering with the Sales Team and Underwriting staff to manage customer renewal activity via expert understanding of the customer’s business, claims activity and trends, general and advanced underwriting theory.

To succeed in this position you will need:

• Experience managing customer business in a similar capacity within the insurance industry, preferably within the group/employee benefits market segment. Ideal candidates will be coming from direct experience with other carriers or brokers/producers, and have experience with Group Disability, Dental and Life products.
• An excellent track-record of customer advocacy, support and service within a similar context.
• Sales skills and related experience, including opportunity identification and supporting action plans, strong negotiation, persuasion and presentation skills particularly relating to customer retention.
• Demonstrable ability to work effectively in a tightly-knit, interdependent team environment, while still accomplishing individual objectives and goals.
• Proven ability to effectively organize, prioritize and re-prioritize many outstanding business activities occurring on a daily basis.
• Proven ability to work effectively with primary constituents including customers, producers, corporate staff, field office staff, and sales team to balance customer needs, make sound decisions, and manage the customers business to the high standards of our company.
• PC skills including Office 2K+ (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power-Point..etc.)
• The ability to travel w/in the local market area served by the sales office and to other locations for training and development as required.
• Excellent driving record is required. Must be insurable under corporate insurance carrier.
