This position will be Octagon’s in-market lead responsible for the on-going marketing of a technology brand in Atlanta. Octagon is looking for an Account Manager to manage all aspects of an event marketing program and activation team. The AM will work in partnership with the in-market client team to optimize the program for the local market. This position will report to the Account Director managing market activation. The position has personnel and project management responsibilities and requires a desire to work as part of a team and the capability to solve problems independently.

This position will include event planning, event implementation, vendor negotiation/management, budget development and tracking, as well as creation of marketing and measurement plans.  In addition, this individual will be asked to provide general account support and daily activities on this project.

Responsibilities and Duties:

·         Lead in-market activation team to market client brand 

·         Manage relationships with key partners (e.g. venues, teams, radio stations)

·         Create detailed program and marketing planning documents and timelines

·         Prepare and distribute event execution guides, staff implementation guides 

·         Manage market staff and event scheduling and quality control process

·         Serve as on-site manager of a team 

·         Manage in-market results reporting and wrap-up report development

·         Manage market-specific budget

·         Assist on overall account team duties and additional programs as needed

·         Other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

•     Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5+ years of event marketing experience

•     Proven success in building positive client relationships

•     Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task

•     Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

•     Proven supervisory and negotiation skills

•     Ability to manage people/projects with tight timelines

•     Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and as part of a team

•     Interest and comfort with technology is necessary, technology marketing related work history is a plus

•     Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint

•     Extensive travel and weekend work
