Department Description: The Direct Sales Team is responsible for bringing public safety communication solutions for Motorola GPS to our Mission Critical customers in voice, Data, and emerging technology applications. Our sales team works with cross functional teams in system integration, engineering, service, and quality across various direct and indirect distribution channels.
Responsibilities/Expectations: Looking for a candidate with experience in complex technology sales, preferably for government customers. Also a basic understanding of Public Safety communications and organizational structure is a big plus. Knowledge of Motorola products and solution in Public Safety marketplace also strongly desired. Comfort level working through channel partners such as manufacturer representatives and dealers also requested.
**Must live and be prepared to travel extensively throughout West Virginia **
Responsible for achieving $ multi-million sales goals within assigned end-user accounts. This position would have a territory including the entire state of West Virginia . Candidate must Understand the specific marketplace served and how Motorola should best serve customers within the respective marketplace. Accountable for development and execution of a sales strategy for the assigned accounts or territory. Responsible for representing “the face of Motorola” to our customers and persuading the customer to purchase. Also responsible for representing the customer perspective to Motorola. Ability to initiate and build solid working relationships with diverse customer decision makers and influencers and to be self-motivated, and operate with minimal supervision are critical for success. Ability to work with and motivate dealer and manufacturer rep partners is also critical for overall success. Creates and uses sales tools; excellent communications a must; strong business/marketing, financial, and computer skills required.
Knowledge Skills: 3+ years of experience in sales -technology sales or government sales experience strongly preferred -Uses moderate domain / solutions knowledge -Utilizes solid understanding of all Products/Services in business -Understands policies and practices related to role and shares ideas for improvement -Understands and explains how Motorola solutions can help customer’s business results; obtains profitable revenue growth via value proposition vs. competition -Uses full knowledge of customers business and market economics / trends to position effectively versus competition -Experience working with/through channels.
Basic Qualifications: - 3+ years of sales experience
