Collections Manager

Devcon Security, an industry leader in residential and commercial security systems, has an immediate opening for a Collections Manager at our regional corporate headquarters in Lindon, Utah. Devcon Security is an electronic security company which sells, installs, services, and monitors security systems in the residential and commercial markets. We allow our customers to “live confidently” and feel safe in their home and business environment. Devcon Security recently partnered with Utah-based Pinnacle Security in order to provide improved services to our customers and employees.

The Collections Manager is responsible for overseeing, assessing, and evaluating all employees, day to day operations, and functions in the Collections Department. The manager will then direct the changes which need to be made to achieve maximum desired output. This position will ultimately be responsible for Collections and Past Due Accounts but may have some responsibilities in Customer Service such as Retention/Customer Satisfaction, Escalation, and Scheduling.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Responsible for all processes in the Department including, but not limited to, collections, some customer service functions and people processes.

a.Help define company policies and procedures, and recommend workflow improvements.

b.Make good judgment decisions where policies are not defined.

c.Prepare forecasts and strategic plan.

d.Ability to access, create, interpret, and act upon company reports.

e.Exceptional organizational and planning skills.

f.Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs.

g.Must be detail oriented and have the ability to anticipate challenges and formulate system improvements.

  1. Serve as a liaison between other divisions in the company, and be able to work well with all levels of co-workers up to, and including, management.

a.Direct Supervisors in the Call Center.

b.Excellent interaction and leadership skills

c.Superior written and oral communication abilities.

  1. Oversee the monitoring of work performance and identify training or disciplinary needs.

a.Responsible for recurrent training in the Department.

b.Excellent training and coaching techniques.

c.Ability to manage people to achieve higher level of performance and to reach company goals and objectives.

d.Ensure employee morale to prevent employee attrition.

  1. Responsible for employee compensation including approval of time clock reports.

a.Verification of time clock reports.

b.Audits all missed time clock punches with supervisors.

  1. Oversee recruiting, interviewing, hiring, promotion, and discharge of employees.

a.Conduct performance appraisals for direct reports.

b.Promote positive company image internally and externally.

  1. Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.

a.Ensures work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.

b.Stays informed of trends and changes in the customer service field.

c.Completes special projects as assigned.

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS

1.Collection functions are completed accurately, timely, and in accordance with established policies and procedures.

2.Professional business relations exist with customers.Questions, problems, and information needs are resolved courteously, effectively, and promptly.Customer assistance is provided as required.

3.Technical service questions and complaints are resolved quickly and the Company's professional reputation is maintained.

4.Required documentation, records, reports, and files are complete, accurate, and up-to-date.

5.Department personnel are effective, efficient, and well supervised.Personnel are assisted and supported as needed.

6.Effective working relations and coordination exist with Company personnel.Information is obtained and conveyed as needed.Technical problems, customer product needs, and sales leads are appropriately referred.

7.Management is informed of area activities and of any significant concerns.
