Account Supervisor/ Managing Supervisor, Financial/Corporate Media Specialist

We have an immediate opening for an Account Supervisor or Managing Supervisor level media specialist to join our corporate team in New York City.

 

THE POSITION: AS/MS Financial/Corporate Media Specialist

 

SUMMARY:   The successful candidate will be able to:

 

·         Offer credentials as a skilled, high energy corporate and financial counselor, one who knows how to match senior executives to opportunities with reporters in the national business media

·         Work within the Fleishman-Hillard culture, with its emphasis on teamwork and respect for the individual

·         Demonstrate both solid critical thinking and efficient, compelling writing

 

 

Description:

 This role is a significant position within the Fleishman Hillard New York corporate team. This professional would partner with other financial media specialist throughout the Firm’s U.S. region on an as-needed basis to further strengthen media contacts and develop client relationships as a collaborative team member.

 

 The successful candidate will be responsible for leveraging all financial media contacts and his/her knowledge and keen business acumen to provide counsel and guidance to the Firm’s client base on media activity.  This will require taking into consideration each client’s vision and corporate business objectives, including pertinent corporate image, identity, and positioning issues, as a means to providing the most effective counsel that will solve critical business issues. 

 

Corporate and Financial Media Responsibilities:

 

The following outlines the breadth of responsibilities that this professional will be called upon for both strategic and tactical advisement as it relates to corporate and financial initiatives on behalf of clients:

·                     Develop story angles, messages and other media materials for use in shaping a corporations image or brand image.

·                     Conduct media relations aimed at the financial community; strategy development and overall messaging, as well as relationship development.

·                     Work with corporate and senior counselers on the FH corporate team to coordinate strategic communications strategies and tactics when pitching and placing major corporate profiles with reporters.

·                     Actively pitching the media as well as directing, writing/editing financial Communications, including investor fact sheets, annual reports/quarterly earnings releases, conference call scripts, etc.

·                     Provide media training for client executives as well as plan and hold media events.

·                     Internal Communications: conveying appropriate messages to internal constituencies

 

Corporate and Financial Media Qualifications


• 5 -7 years experience of demonstrated hands-on media approach with strong national lifestyle contacts (broadcast and long-lead print)
• Proven ability to develop corporate financial pitches and secure placements
• Strong understanding of financial arena and ability to tell complex stories in a consumer-friendly way
• Excellent writing skills
• Proven ability to work collaboratively and direct a team
• Reams of national and local placements
• Ability to grasp and contribute to the “big picture” while managing the finer details effectively and independently
