East Tennessee’s largest mortgage lender, Mortgage Investors Group, has an immediate opening for an Accountant in our Knoxville Headquarters Office.

The Accountant's primary responsibility is to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of the Company’s financial reporting. This position requires a hands-on accountant who is detail-oriented, analytical, and organized. 

• Involved with financial statement close process including preparation and review of reconciliations, journal entries and supporting schedules
  
• Responsible for Appraisal Liability (Coding invoices, inputting them into G/L and researching financial transactions)
  
• Working with other associates on Monthly Commissions
  
• Daily Cash Flow
  
• Special Projects as requested
  
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Education:

• Associate degree in Accounting or related field
  
• 2-3 years experience required (Mortgage Banking experience a plus)

 Minimum Knowledge:

• Excellent computer skills, including experience in Microsoft Office (Excel primarily) and familiarity with other software applications
  
• Excellent organizational skills
  
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
