Accounting Analyst

General Duties Include:

Monitor general ledger activity for proper account coding/distribution and prepare or coordinate correcting journal entries as needed, perform actual to budget comparisons, research discrepancies and correct data, when applicable, or record explanations. Review and test the expense allocation codes (at the company and expense level) for accuracy and applicability; maintain allocation codes in general ledger software. Prepare Service Companies financial results on a quarterly basis, ensuring all entries have been booked.  Review data for anomalies, review findings with supervisor, and book adjustments as needed, Assist with various quarterly entries (service fee adjustments, profit share calculation, dividend accruals, etc.), Prepare quarterly STAT to GAAP adjustment calculations, review results and prepare comparison summary for Controller.

Assist with annual budget process - prepare directories and folders needed for various scenarios; update or create worksheets to gather and analyze data; coordinate interfacing data into general ledger and verifying accuracy of results; assist with GAAP adjustments, inter-company eliminations and GAAP consolidation process; communicate changes with H/R and A/P to ensure consistency and update allocation codes for new budget, if applicable. Assist with preparation of annual financial statement notes - gather various support schedules, enter data into template, verify accuracy of data entered and ensure format compatible with management desires.

Qualification are: Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance. 3+ years experience required. Solid computer skills needed.
