SUMMARY

This position is responsible for general accounting duties including internal control compliance and documentation, general ledger reconciliation, accounts payable, accounts receivable and other special projects as assigned for the US and Puerto Rico Logistic business of a multinational protein and logistics company.

 ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 General Ledger: 

        Analyze and maintain balance sheet accounts and records for external audits.

        Perform account analyses. Verify account activity and balance.

        Post financial transactions.

        Perform designated closing activities.

        Present financial information as requested.

Financial Analysis

        Create and document process for the posting warehouse transactions to assure timely and accurate information.

        Assist operations with reconciliations and recording of transactions.

        Analyze operational data to determine costing of transactions  

        Perform warehouse reconciliations monthly and annually.

Internal Compliance:

        Assist Controller with internal compliance documentation and testing.  Areas of concentration include payroll processing, benefit cost and pay cycles, assistance with treasury functions and new initiatives.

        Knowledge and documentation of sub-system interfaces with General Ledger and how it impacts financial reporting.

        Documentation of internal processes and control compliance.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Four-year college degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA is a plus.  3-7 years general accounting experience desired.  Proficient with Microsoft office products including Excel, Word, Access and Powerpoint.  Oracle Financial, IES Software experience and proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
