Established Career College is looking to immediately hire an accounting professional for the role of Accounting Manager/Business Office Manager. The Accounting Manager/Business Office Manager role is integral to the operations of the company as it holds very diverse responsibilities including overseeing all day-to-day accounting functions, human resources, and financial management.
Candidate is expected to be able to competently handle the following duties:
- Manage campus accounting and finance operations to ensure compliance with institutional objectives and Federal/State regulations.
- Monitors all finance activities to ensure timely ledger posting, tracking and collections of student accounts.
- Ensure completion of all financial forms, installment notes and disclosure statements related to student financing and credit terms.
- Maintain campus bad debt results within established budgetary goals and objectives.
- Direct internal controls for cash management to ensure appropriate cash flow levels.
- Responsible for tracking the allocation of any campus-based funds.
- Implement, monitor, and enforce institutional financial policies and procedures.
- Assist in the coordination of the institution’s response to any internal/external audits and work with outside auditors to provide year-end financials for Department of Education annual audits.
- Prepares documentation requirements to meet compliance audit standards.
- Compile, prepare and analyze annual and monthly accounting and financial reports and forecasts.
- Prepare and analyze variance reports and schedules as well as budgets, forecasts, financial plans, governmental requirements, statistical reports, cash flow projections, and business forecasts.
- Analyze financial information to determine present and future financial performance.
- Review monthly P&L’s and gather support for accruals/adjustments.
- Update and distribute key metric reports as requested.
- Maintain, reconcile and analyze all accounts both student and institutional.
- Identify trends and recommend improvements to executive management team.
- Develop policies and procedures for the accounting department and ensure that appropriate and compliant audit trails exist and are maintained.
- Provide ongoing financial analysis of current operations in order to make strategic/budget recommendations.
- Process personnel actions, to include interview, hire, performance evaluations, and termination as they relate to the accounting department.
- Train, manage and develop assigned personnel in performing highly structured work with extensive standard operating procedures.
Requirements:
- Current Valid CPA license.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting or related discipline.
- 5+ years of relevant work experience in a supervisor position.
- Educational experience preferred.
- Strong Organizational/Analytical skills.
- Detail-oriented and produce results with a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
- Ability to consistently meet deadlines.
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills required.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of Great Plains and/or Quickbooks is desirable.
