Job Description
Our client, a growing financial services company located in the heart of DC, is looking for an Accounting Manager. This individual will be responsible for managing a team of staff and senior accountants within one of the Accounting groups and is responsible for the day-to-day operation of various investment funds. The Managers primary responsibility is to coordinate the preparation and review of financial reports to be issued to the funds partners and/or employee investors, including the funds' financial statements, partners capital account statements, tax returns and K-1 forms, as well as other ad hoc reports requested by investors in the fund or other internal departments. The Manager is expected to work closely with the Fund Management team to ensure that transactions and events involving the funds and their portfolio investments are appropriately recorded and reported, and are in compliance with each funds partnership agreements. The Manager is also expected to review capital calls and distribution notices; coordinate the year-end tax and audit processes; and support internal initiatives to improve, standardize and automate processes and practices. The Manager is expected to interact frequently with investors and coordinate responses to investor inquires. This individual will work closely with other Managers to ensure consistent GAAP and Tax treatment of transactions across groups. Qualified candidates will have a BS in Accounting, CPA, 5+ years of public accounting experience with having supervised a staff for at least 2+ years.
