DTC-based homebuilder is looking for an enthusiastic addition to its team. We are looking for an Accounts Payable Coordinator to assist in our accounts payable department. The Accounts Payable Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all invoices are entered in a timely manner, that all insurance requirements are up to date and that all subcontractors, consultants and vendors are paid within the company guidelines.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Enter Contracted Payables and all general ledger accounts payable.
- Utility billings to include correct lot coding as well as tracking utility bills on closed homes to ensure that they are turned over to the new owner.
- Vendor reconciliations – when a vendor is making claims of non-payment, research each invoice and determine the status. Communicate with the vendor as often as possible in order to make them aware that you are working on their issue, and that it is important to you. Resolve the matter in a timely fashion.
- Daily hand check runs. This includes proper coding and entry, creating the check batch, obtaining the proper approvals and following through with the person requesting the check to ensure proper handling.
- Scan and save all batches & backup.
- Work with Purchasing to resolve missing PO issues and back charge issues.
- Manage insurance requirements procedure. Ensure that all subcontractors, vendors and consultants are up to date with all insurance requirements in advance of the check to run.
- Work with Superintendents and Subcontractors to ensure understanding and compliance of approval process.
- Position reports directly to the Senior Controller.
REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:
- Thorough understanding of Accounts Payable – 3-5 years minimum experience.
- Residential homebuilding accounting experience required.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow-up and follow-through on projects.
- Willingness to learn new things and take on additional responsibilities.
- Working knowledge of MS Office.
- Knowledge of NewStar helpful.
