Activity Assistant

Job Description: Under the direct supervision of the Activities Coordinator, the Assistant provides assistance with directing and conducting the activities program. Assists in planning, organizing, supervising, and conducting activity programs for Independent living, Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing Unit and Memory Support Unit. Implements room visits for residents that do not attend group activities in the Assisted Living Area, Skilled Nursing Unit and Memory Support Unit. Responds to resident and facility emergencies following Emergency and Disaster policies; responds to fire alarms. Plans and implements community outings in facility bus. Monitors activities that are performed by outside groups. Maintains weekly and monthly progress reports to department head.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A high school diploma or equivalent. Excellent telephone and interpersonal skills. Positions within this classification may require the ability to type or keyboard at least 30 accurate words per minute. Position requires the ability to lift 35 pounds and ability to push residents in wheelchairs.
