Actuarial Project Manager
Job Description
Modis is seeking an IT Project Manager with Actuarial experience for a long term contract opportunity with our industry leading client in Newark, DE. This position is responsible for planning and managing the delivery of the business objectives of the Finance Actuarial Department for the creation and conversion of valuation extracts. This will include planning, estimating, execution, implementation, and ongoing support. The individual will work closely with the PMO, the technical teams, and the functional Finance Actuarial business group to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of systems solutions deployed in support of business goals and objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities
project scope, milestones and deliverables using appropriate project management tools and project management process. Manage changes in project scope identifying potential risks and devising contingency plans. Coordinate the efforts of the technical team members and the functional business team members in order to deliver projects according to plan. Effectively communicate project expectations to team members in a clear and timely fashion. Prepare weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly reports as will be determined by PMO. Analyze status reports from the project teams and troubleshoot problem areas. Conduct project post mortems and create a lessons learned report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements. Assist with developing best practices and tools for project execution and management.
Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
Knowledge, Skills and Education Required
Bachelor's degree or related work experience
Certification in IT Project Management required or related work experience
2-4 years direct work experience in a project management capacity including all aspects of process development and execution
Strong familiarity with project management software, such as Microsoft Project
Database and operating systems experience with mainframe, PC, and servers
Highly competent with Microsoft Office suite of applications
Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented,ccollaborative environment is essential.
Must be able to conform to shifting priorities and demands and be flexible during times of change.
Strong written and oral communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills.
Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products.
Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial
