Admin Dir. Quality Outcomes/Patient Safety Officer (SH)

Description/Purpose Of Position:
Responsible for the planning, organizing and direction of all administrative and functional activities related to the hospital’s patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance programs. Serves as the hospital’s Patient Safety Officer. Provides administrative leadership for the Risk Management, Performance Improvement, Medical Staff department, Infection Control, as well as the Education Department and Case Management if applicable. Ensures Medical Center’s compliance with external regulatory entities (i.e., TJC, CMS, Bureau of Licensure and Certification). Provides leadership in the fulfillment of UHS Risk Management and Quality initiatives and expectations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s Degree Preferred.

Experience:

A minimum of five (5) years progressive management experience in Quality, Performance Improvement, and/or Patient Safety/Risk Management/ 2 years Regulatory Compliance required. Experience in an acute care hospital environment is preferred.

Technical Skills:

Computer proficiency to include word processing, spreadsheet, and database.

License/Certification:
Nevada RN license or Risk/Quality Healthcare Professional Certification required. (example HQCP)

Other:
Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide service
appropriate to the age of the patient.
