Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Orientation and Admission Programs, the Administrative Assistant will provide administrative, supervisory, and other support-related duties and functions designed to assist the Director of New Student Orientation and Parent Program Office. This position will hire, train, and supervise student work-study and will be responsible for the processing of student payroll, as well as support the Manager of Finances with budget reconciliation. He/she will schedule and maintain office meetings, provide assistance with office correspondence to include the parent message board and orientation facebook group, and provide administrative support during programming to include: Orientation and Parent Program, and Admission events. He or she will He/she will provide a high level of customer service to new students and families, working directly with key University offices in resolving issues, as well as communicating and executing office policy and procedure.

Qualifications

Qualifications for position: Minimum of an Associates Degree or two years of post secondary education, with three years experience in a related administrative role and a strong customer service background. Must be detail oriented, and have excellent organizational skills and writing skills. Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a demanding work environment. Demonstrated ability and commitment in providing effective and outreaching customer service to a diverse student and family population. Thorough knowledge of office procedures, good judgment, discretion, and problem-solving ability. Must have strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and experience in supervision and training. Familiar and comfortable in working with computer database systems and PC-based network environment.
