Administrative Assistant

Job Description:

Overall support to the manager or director as related to day to day operations of the department, including coordination of the manager's calendar, word processing of all documents as appropriate to the position, including correspondence, grants, abstracts, syllabi, laboratory reports and/or meeting minutes, initiation and followup of purchase orders, change orders, check requests, other secretarial coverage as needed, payroll and personnel tasks, distribution of mail and other duties as required. Primary Duties and Responsibilities.

1. Assists manager or director with all day to day tasks as summarized above.
2. Schedules forums and meeting and assumes responsibility for transcription and distribution of minutes to participating personnel.
3. Prepares and follows up on purchase orders, change orders, check requests, petty cash vouchers, etc.
4. Makes arrangements for all meetings and seminars.
5. Maintain a current inventory of all office supplies and reorders as necessary.
6. Develops updates or revises office informational brochures and mailings as requested by manager.
7. Participates in all events and assists with development and implementation of special events, as assigned.
