This position requires a bachelor's degree in nursing or equivalent from an accredited school of nursing.  Current licensure in the state of Maryland as a registered nurse.  A minimum 5 years nursing experience. 

In this position you will carry out hospital policies, procedures and standards.  You will maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory and JCAHO standards.  You will visit all patient care units to ascertain condition of patients, evaluate staffing needs and to provide support to caregivers.  You will also administer the effective distribution and utilization of personnel employed during each shift including securing regular and supplementary staff and receiving oncoming sick calls.  You will serve as a resource to department staff and as a liaison to hospital administrators regarding any situations which may have an impact on the organization.
