About the Job
Yale University is seeking an Administrator for the Department of Immunobiology. Reporting to the Department Chair, and to the Deputy Dean for Finance and Administration for the School of Medicine the Administrator serves as the business manager for Immunobiology, a large basic science department with complex and diverse interdisciplinary programs focused on basic immunological research and multiple aspects of human diseases. Specific areas of responsibility include: financial and budget management of an annual operating budget of approximately $24M, business affairs and controls, grant and sponsored agreement management, non-faculty personnel management and facilities oversight for this multi-site department. This individual is critical to ensuring the resources and operating environment needed to recruit and retain the highest quality faculty, students and staff.
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting or a related field and 8 years of experience in an administrative/supervisory capacity, or equivalent; PhD in a scientific discipline with business experience or MBA is strongly preferred. Must also possess strong problem-solving and decision making skills, the ability to anticipate changes in the business environment and a high level of strategic planning skills.
