Entry Level Advertising Sales & Marketing Position


 


We are looking for a self-motivated individual who has a passion for sales and marketing. Your primary function would be selling advertising (business to business) in one or more of the company's expansion or established publications to new advertising clients. Our sales process is consultative (using phone, email, fax, mail) -- each outreach is to be a thoughtful conversation. We encourage you to research your potential clients and their industry and also provide ongoing training to give you the tools and knowledge you'll need to talk with them.


 


Publication / sales managers will be involved in:



  • Advertising sales - direct sales, mostly over the phone, but also using fax, email, mail to support your efforts. We do both cold calling to targeted categories of business and calling upon existing or past clients. If you work on guides that aren't based in Pittsburgh, we welcome you to travel a few times a year to your market, but travel is not required.
  • Lead research
  • Marketing advisement for our current advertisers
  • Coordinating print and web content
  • Overseeing cover design and layout
  • Management of distribution

Our compensation package includes base salary plus commission/bonuses, as well as medical benefits. IRA contribution after one year. Base salary is based on experience of the candidate and will be negotiated on a case by case basis, although most entry level employees start with a base in the 20s plus 5% commission plus bonuses and benefits. We also have a casual business environment. Our offices are located in the Bourse Building Complex, which is situated in a very natural, woodsy setting (we see deer, turkeys, and other wildlife out our windows almost daily!).  We are also right up the road from a variety of gyms, restaurants and shopping
