ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Manage software customization projects for pharmaceutical and chemical customers:

• Complete and independent project management responsbility and ownership of delivery


• Effectively manage project teams in a matrixed environment


• Rigorously manage the cost, schedule and quality of a software consulting project. 
  
• Careful attention to documentation and details are required.



 

Conduct business analysis and process transformation assessments in pharmaceutical, energy or consumer products R&D:

 



• Work effectively with scientific and IT customers to define, articulate and document project requirements.


• Evaluate workflows and existing systems across R&D environment and develop a strategy for business transformation built on Symyx products.


• Requirements documentation and use case development.



 

Manage software deployment and validation activities in key accounts.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

• Expert level experience with electronic lab notebooks, analytical data acquisition and management systems, high throughput automation, biology data management, chemical structure databases or LIMS. 
  
• 7 to 10 years experience managing software deployment, development or customization projects in a pharmaceutical or chemical  R&D organization.  Undergraduate degree in a scientific or engineering discipline. 
  
• PMI certification and advanced degree are a plus. 
  
• Central NJ location.  
  
• 50% travel depending on assignment.



 

EDUCATION:

 

• B.S. Scientific or Engineering or IT discipline. 
  
• Advanced degree is desirable.
