Agent Contracting / Compensation Supervisor

 

This individual will be responsible for planning, organizing and supervising all activities within the Great American Senior Benefits Agent Compensation & Contracting  department to support the contracting and the payment of compensation to career agents for both GASBG and external carriers.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage staff:  organize work, establish priorities, and delegate responsibilities for contracting & compensating the career field force.  Interview, recruit, train, and motivate the  staff.  Conduct performance reviews, recommend promotions and salary adjustments, and administer company policies and procedures.
  2. Ensure accurate payment of commissions according to department standards.
  3. Ensure that agent data maintained in the GASB agency system is a mirror of the data contained in LifePRO related to agent hierarchies and levels.
  4. Apply technical knowledge and problem solving skills to increase department efficiency and fully utilize technology.
  5. Approve commission checks within designated approval limits.
  6. Approve General Ledger vouchers, stop payments of checks and reissues of checks.
  7. Monitor debit balance report and collection process.
  8. Ensure open communication between staff, management and other corporate personnel.
  9. Maintain detailed knowledge of commission schedules and products.
  10. Coordinate setup, production runs and maintenance of GBS commissions system for career agents data.
  11. Monitor agent quality of business:  develop reporting tools to detect trends, review and identify issues.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; or equivalent insurance experience of at least 2-4 years and/or LOMA course work experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in administration of commission/agent programs.
  • 1-2 years experience in a leadership role. 
  • Proficient in use of PC based systems used:  MicroSoft Office, Life Pro, On Base.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good working knowledge of products and commission schedules.
  • Effective problem solver.
  • Effective customer service skills.
  • Estimated time of travel:  5%0%
