Summary of Primary Function:
The Agent Support Specialist position performs a critical role in ensuring that IAP’s agents have access to all the information they need about submitted business. This high-energy individual will embody our Core Values of excellent service while providing telephone and email support to the MGA’s, IMO’s, GA’s and Agents.
Essential Duties:
Ø Supports Managing General Agents (MGA's) and Independent Marketing Organizations (IMO's), General Agents (GA’s) and Agents with information and training regarding the sale of products via telephone, email, and Web-based sessions.
Ø Provides insight, training and information about procedures and requirements for agents.
Ø Assists MGA's/IMO's/Agents in selecting the appropriate product for a particular client by demonstrating an in-depth understanding of IAP products.
Ø Processes supply orders in coordination with the Marketing Specialist and external printing and fulfillment partner.
Ø Provides Agents with telephone and e-mail support of the secure Web site by troubleshooting problems, working with IT, resetting passwords and granting access to new agents.
Ø Works with Legal/Compliance department, Marketing Specialist, and external contractors as needed to update forms, maintain the forms master list, and ensure forms are available online.
Ø Ensures all key information pieces necessary for agents to provide IAP Life Insurance products, including brochures, bulletins and forms, are uploaded and available within the secure agent website.
Ø Coordinates supplies, trade show booths, and shipping requirements as needed for conventions.
Ø Supports and trains MGA's/IMO's/Agents and their staff on illustration preparation as needed.
Ø Researches product specification sheets, marketing brochures, policy contracts or product promotional material in order to answer MGA's/IMO's/Agents questions.
Ø Provides backup for New Business Support Department as needed.
2. New Business Support – 30%
Ø Provides support via telephone and email to agents requesting information about submitted business.
Ø Provides status information on contracts and applications.
Ø Researches and communicates policy and commissions information to agents.
3. Marketing –10%
Ø Occasionally coordinates creation and distribution of field communications, updates to Web site and secure agent areas as needed.
Ø Provides feedback to the Marketing team by communicating suggestions and issues identified through daily interaction with sales team.
Ø Contributes to idea generation and brainstorming of Marketing & Sales Support team.
Education, Work Experience and Training Requirements:
· High school diploma, plus at least 2 years post-secondary business education.
· At least two years of strong administrative experience in a customer service oriented position.
· Life insurance or related financial services industry experience strongly preferred.
· Successful completion of level 1 LOMA, or the willingness to complete within the first year of employment.
· Successful completion of ACS 100 and AIAA 200, or the willingness to obtain within the first 2 years of employment.

Working Conditions, Physical & Mental Requirements:
Work is sedentary in nature and is performed in a traditional office environment with cubicles. Typically, the incumbent will sit comfortably while performing the work, with some walking, standing, bending and carrying of light items, such as papers, books, and files. Other physical demands in performing the essential functions of this position include: digital dexterity, hearing, seeing, and talking . Mental requirements include, but are not limited to, the ability to concentrate, take initiative, cope with stress, adapt, and stay alert in a business environment.
