Summary:
Responsible for inspection, maintenance and repair of alarm detection and alert systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Investigates problems and makes repairs in accordance with all
regulations, requirements, and preventative maintenance standards.
Participates in periodic upgrade or replacement of equipment, including
batteries, to ensure proper operation.
Tests maintains and repairs installed fire alarm detection systems and
suppression systems in accordance with industry standards and client or
Company procedures.
Enforces OSHA regulations and compliance.
Interprets technical reports, serious accidents and test data; may include
working with government officials in post-incident investigation.
Plans, develops and implements alarm programs for entire facility in
response to requests from facility management.
Inspects equipment visually, tests initiating and signal circuits, detectors
and system transmitter, makes needed repairs and checks pressure
gauges on fire suppression system storage containers.
Inspects door and window entry detection components visually and with
circuit-testing equipment to ensure proper operation.
Inspects, installs, repairs or replaces motion detectors to provide
coverage for desired area or field, including entry monitoring and tie-in to
intrusion detection system.
Responsible for collecting and analyzing data from periodic inspections
and suggesting upgrades or improvements to facility management.
Responsible for facility compliance with all pertinent regulations.
Assists Project Manager with the development of a training program for
site personnel.
Will perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands:
May be required to stand, sit, squat or walk for extended periods of time.
Work Environment:
Work areas will include all areas of the government installation.
