Job Description:

·         The alignment specialist will be the plant focal point for all drift/pull/free-play/wander and clear-vision concerns.  He/she will work closely with all necessary departments (Body, Chassis, PVT, ...) to improve customer satisfaction.

·         Monitor internal and external quality indicators.

o        Hunter audit Data

o        Clear Vision Data

o        Conduct a weekly audit of 100 on-the-vehicle tire conicity matches (Are the front tires from the same conicity sort)

o        Supplier & Body Shop data for any components that are deemed critical for that plant (i.e,, frame control holes, LCAs, UCAs, Twin-I radius arms, upper strut mount position, body-to-subframe decking holes, etc.)

o        AWS/ECB data (support role for ECB binning and BSAQ)

·         Perform root cause analysis on out-of-spec/out-of-control vehicles.

·         Analyze and react to plant alignment control charts.

·         Work with Plant Body and Chassis departments and PVTs to reduce variability of alignment processes.  Mean center alignment processes.

·         Establish an effective tire conicity sorting reaction plan.

·         Assure that plant alignment setting equipment is calibrated regularly.

·         Present in plant VRT/QRT meetings.

·         Be active member of plant alignment VRT.

·         Analyze and reduce Drift/Pull/Free Play/Wander Warranty.

·         Maintain electronic log of all alignment offsets made.

·         Ensure compliance with VOME Alignment Mfg. Health chart, and drive 100% “green” status.

·         Assist VOME & PD with new model launch, ensuring process capability metrics are met early in the prototype build phases.

 

Requirements include:

          Engineering degree preferred

          Certified as trained by Hunter Engineering for alignment

          Certified 6-Sigma Black Belt preferred; minimum Green Belt
