Annual Fund & Data-Base Coordinator

About the Job

The Annual Fund and Database Coordinator will be responsible for specific aspects of the annual and online fundraising programs of the Philanthropy Office including the oversight of the donor database, online constituent management, and other special projects. S/he will report to the Vice President of Philanthropy and work collaboratively with other members of the Philanthropy Staff.  Specifics of the position include, but are not limited to:


 



  • Design and implement programs to meet annual fundraising goals (direct and online) with a focus on unrestricted support.

  • Coordinate 2-3 Annual Fund Mailings per year – identify and coordinate donor mailing list to ensure it meets NCOA compliance standards.

  • In conjunction with other members of the Philanthropy team, develop and work towards growing the Memorial Giving Program  

  • Monitor progress, refine efforts, and develop reporting mechanisms to the Vice President.

  • Work with staff to identify new prospects, cultivate support, and strengthen the development program.

  • Work with the philanthropy and finance team to ensure systems are in place to accept, maintain, and report on gifts, pledges, and funds from donors.

  • Responsible for the maintenance of database(s) and to ensure integrity though regular audits and other responsibilities relating to the database as assigned to support department.

  • Develop procedures to review and maintain data accuracy and integrity.

  • Oversight of development of reports, financial and auditor reports, monthly gift reconciliation and variation reports.

  • Key liaison to online constituent management system (Raiser’s Edge)

  • Oversight of donor acknowledgement system and process.

  • Provide development staff with training resources and educational tools to maximize use of donor database and online software.

  • Perform other job related duties as requested.

 


  JOB REQUIREMENTS:


 



  • 2+ years experience in positions managing operations and systems in a nonprofit environment or similar organizational setting.

  • Demonstrated outcomes and success in improving overall fundraising results.

  • BA/BS required

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, effective interpersonal skills, ability to work as a member of a team and independently with proven track record working collaboratively with department heads.

  • Familiarity with all facets of development, including annual fund and online, major gifts/campaigns.

  • Strong financial management experience, and budget planning and projections.

  • Deep understanding of complex database systems with demonstrated success in data management, data reporting and analysis and data conversion.

  • Significant experience in gift acceptance policy and acknowledgment practices.

  • Demonstrated job continuity and increasing levels of responsibility.

  • Exposure to website management.

  • An interest in and ability to effectively communicate Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island’s mission and work.
