Cobham Sensor Systems is a design and manufacturing company of microwave antennas and radomes. Cobham is actively seeking a highly motivated individual to become a part of our dynamic team as an Antenna Engineer. This position is responsible for modifying existing, and designing and developing new antenna and radome products, using new and unique concepts to respond to customer and marketplace needs.  The Antenna Engineer will develop new products under IR & D tasks and better ways to manufacture existing products and to maintain the quality standards of the Company.

 

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

·         Serving as design engineer for antennas or radomes to meet customer specifications. Provides assistance and support to others in the phases of the design effort.

·         Provide technical assistance to customers as required.

·         Assisting Operations to improve the manufacturing process for existing products, while maintaining quality standards set by the company.

·         Developing new products under IR&D tasks that meet customer specifications.

·         Preparing proposals including design concepts, quoting, writing sections, and presentations to internal and external customers.

·         Supporting Sales/Marketing as required.

·         Providing engineering assistance to Operations to resolve technical problems related to the fabrication, assembly, and testing of products.

Qualified candidates will have:

•          Minimum of Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering

•          Minimum of 2-4 years experience as an Electrical Engineer

•          Prefer 5+ years experience as an Antenna Engineer with an RF Microwave or Electronics manufacturer

•          Able to conceptualize technical composite and RF application and design products and solutions to problems from those concepts.

•          Experience designing RF microwave horn-type antennas and radomes.

•          Experience with test equipment for antennas and radomes.

•          Project engineering experience.

•          Experience preparing proposals including the technical portions and the costing.

•          Good technical analytical skills and math skills.

•          Computer proficiency in word processing, computer modeling and engineering design applications.

•          Good oral and written communication skills.  Good presenter.

•          Good interpersonal skills.

•          Understanding of application of Wave Guide and Apertures and use of Ridges in Apertures.

•          Detailed understanding of antenna and radome radiation, mechanical and environmental testing.
