AP Supervisor


We are an apartment management company located in Northwest Houston  and we are looking for a supervisor for our AP & AR team.  We need someone with employee management, budgeting, accounting and analytical skills. Outgoing and personable attitude is crucial to the success of this position. Strong Excel and QuickBooks skills required as well as the ability to adapt to a customized reporting system.


 


This position will directly report to the controller and will manage a corporate support staff of 15 or more employees.  As the AP/AR Supervisor your two main responsibilities will be to supervise the payables and receivables function for the office and to ensure the continued high performance of your team.


 


 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Supervise, train and interview for all positions in the AP/AR group


Monitor receivables; oversee accounts payable function, including expense reporting,


capitalization policy, and purchase order procedures; assist with strategic planning


Examine and review the evaluation and implementation of accounting systems, policies and procedures; banking procedures, cash-flow reports, and analyses


Establish and maintain systems and controls to verify the integrity of all systems,


processes and data, and enhance company value


Ensure compliance with various third party client accounting policies and procedures


Prepare capital requests and compliance reports for both debt and equity sources


Interface with senior management and property managers


 


Competencies:


Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business required


Knowledge and experience in data collections, data analysis


2 - 3 years of related experience preferred


Ability to work with all levels of management and supervise employees


Strong financial analytical and organizational skills


Excellent analytical problem solving and reasoning ability


Strong leadership and interpersonal skills desired


Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with multiple deadlines while having a high degree of self driven initiative
